The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. Park Rapids and Leech Lake Railway Company.

The company was incorporated by GN interests in 1897 and built a 49-mile rail line from Park Rapids to Cass Lake. Its properties were acquired in 1899 by another GN subsidiary, the Eastern Railway Company of Minnesota, and in 1907 they were sold to GN. The company was disincorporated in 1928.
